WHAT LOVE MADE ME DO ❤️ 💔 (Chapter 1)
The stars twinkled in the dark, velvety sky as our eyes met across the crowded hall. I knew we were meant to be together. Little did we know, our love would be put to the ultimate test, as forces beyond our control threatened to tear us apart.
I’m Luchy, the daughter of Mr Law of Anambra state while Abdulkadir is the son of Alhaji Ibrahim of Zamfara state, from wrong side of tracks, both residing in city of Abuja.
We first met on a social night during our Nysc camping in Abuja, our eyes locking in an instant connection that neither could deny. But as our love grew stronger after one year of National service in Abuja, so did the disapproval of our families and the whispers of the society.
Will our love survive the harsh judgment and societal norms, or will it be torn apart by the forces that seek to keep us apart ? Only time will tell.

"What are you thinking, dating someone from a different tribe and religion, Onye Awusa, heeeeee chineke muo, bia Luchy, so you want to bring shame upon this family ? my mother exclaimed, her face twisted in disapproval. "You should know better, than to bring shame to our family by being with Abudukadiri, what’s that his name?"
“Abdulkadir, Ma” i replied
“Shut up, ewu Awusa, did i ask you ? My mother’s voice echoed in the air.
My father chimed in, his voice stern. "You need to be with someone who understand our customs and traditions. This boy, Nnamdi, is a perfect match for you. He is from a good family and has been asking for your hand in marriage."
I couldn't believe what i was hearing. My parents were asking me to leave the person i loved and who loved me in return, just because of our differences in tribe and religion. I could feel tears welling up in my eyes, but i knew i had to stay strong.
"But i love him," I pleaded, my voice shaking. "Isn't that enough?"
My mother's expression softened, but her words were still harsh. "Love is not always enough, my child. You need to think about your future and the future of our family. Nnamdi is a better match for you, and we will not accept anything less."
I looked down, feeling defeated. I knew that my parents would not budge on their beliefs, but i couldn't imagine leaving Abdulkadir for someone i didn't love. I knew i had a tough decision to make.
I could feel my blood boiling, i couldn’t believe my parents had refused to accept the only Man i ever loved, just because of tribe and religion, i angrily stood up and made my way to the door, walking out on my parents.
“Come back here, Luchy, chineke muo, Daddy Luchy, see this girl has suddenly grown wings, what has gotten over her, so after years of training her in school, this is what she came home with, Awusa man, heeeeeeee my enemies are at it again” My mother wailed loudly but my heart was hardened by the pain they caused me, so i quickened my footsteps.
I slammed the door and the sound of slamming door echoed through the sitting room, overpowering my mother’s voice.
“What have i done, I’ve never walked out on my parents. Well, they caused it”. I said to myself as i stormed out of my parents' sitting room, my face red with anger. I couldn't believe that they were still not accepting of my relationship with my long-time boyfriend, Abdulkadir . It was like they were living in the 1800s, refusing to see the love between us.
As soon as i got outside our gate, i pulled out my phone and dialed Abdulkadir’s number. "Meet me at our usual spot in ten minutes," i said sternly, fighting back tears. I knew i could always count on him to be there for me, no matter what.
I walked towards our usual spot at the park, i couldn't help but think about how my parents' disapproval was tearing me apart but i refused to let them come between Abdulkadir and i.
We had been through so much together and our love was stronger than any disapproval.
As i reached the bench where Abdulkadir was waiting for me, i ran into his arms, tears streaming down my face. "I can't take it anymore, Abdulkadir " i cried. "I can't keep pretending everything is okay with my parents. I need you by my side."
Abdulkadir held me tight, his love and support giving me super strength. " Walahi, i'm here for you always," he whispered, wiping away my tears.
We sat on the bench, holding each other, as the sun set behind us. In that moment, i knew that i had made the right decision. I would always choose Abdulkadir and our love, even if it meant going against my parents' wishes.
"Baby, my dad want to meet you this weekend. I told him all about you and he's really excited to finally meet you in person," Abdulkadir said to me.
“Wahala, so it’s my turn to be rejected by Abdulkadir’s parents ” I muttered to myself
“Are you speaking to me ?” Abdulkadir asked me, his ears widely opened like that of an Antelopes, eagerly waiting for answers but i replied; “No my love, i said nothing”
My heart skipped a beat. Meeting my boyfriend's father was a big deal and i couldn't help but feel nervous. "What did you tell him about me?" i asked anxiously.
"I told him how amazing you are, how much i love you, and how i can't imagine my life without you," Abdulkadir replied, trying to calm my nerves.
My face softened and i let out a sigh of relief. "Really?" i asked, a small smile appearing on my face.
"Really. Trust me, my dad is going to love you just as much as i do," Abdulkadir reassured me, pulling me into a hug. "Just relax and be yourself. You have nothing to worry about."
